Givetvis, javisst
hur trist vår rastlöshet
när allt så ovisst
i Covid instängdhet!
Saknar vi all insikt?
Har flackat vår förtröstan?
Bräcklig vår tillförsikt?
Sjunker vi i misströstan?
Mens av vårt släktes storstiliga inbilskhet
berörs ej världsalltets eviga enslighet …
From inconvenience
(as we lack calm resilience)
do grant us lenience!
Let’s rely on own brilliance!
Amidst all impertinent tasks
we’re joined strong in resistance
to those ‘steam up my glasses’ masks
and keeping 6 ft distance!
Those demands imposed on us like blitzkrieg!
Honor our fatigue! Unfair the intrigue!
The Poor do slide off the pillion
when The Rich do a wheelie
they ‘earn’ yet another billion
throttling entitled, freely
The Power Elite
who rarely feels contrite
don’t take the backseat.
The Poor should’ve held on tight!
As The Poor fall off on Life’s ride
The Elite takes it in their stride

Vad som en gång fullgjort
kan väl kanske förstumma
mens syns likväl förgjort
vad vi lyckats försumma?
Avstå från pinsam återblick
på allt det som försiggick!
Lev till fullo vart ögonblick
utan irrig sidoblick
Se varken framåt å tillbaka
två företeelser omaka!
Vad skönt att okränkbarhet
är numera helt umbärlig
å det där med måttlighet
en brant stig alltför besvärlig!
Vad än vi envetnas om får hända
hejdas inte av domarns pipa
så ingen fara vi står felvända
för ingen får lov att ingripa
För i nutida samröre
bör ej finnas rättesnöre!
Det tog då bara sekunder
uti livets mångåriga strid
att begå en pinsam blunder
som lämnat mej utan sinnesfrid
Fast ej gjort så illa
synes omöjligt
att nu sej inbilla
något så löjligt
Nattligt väcker mej spikrak
känslor lurar till stort omak
torr i munnen med bismak
huttrande som om i isvak
Kan skammen någonsin övervinnas
måste jag obarmhärtigt påminnas?
There was this (not that young) man named Brian
who went for an anti-racial buy-in
placed a BLM sign on his lawn
to show off his political brawn
and keeps it there while neighbors’ zeal dying
There was this peculiar geezer
a silly blabbermouth & teaser
but at last got wiser
then tugged on his visor
and ceased being such an appeaser
Ages since in my prime
and still striving to buck up
am racing against time
to turn into a grownup
While prospects for growth by now slimmer
still flickers hope in blurry glimmer
Right wingers march in neo-heimat
breathe out air & thought pollution
To ignore the collapsing climate
appears their preferred ‘solution’
How shall this mess, surely soon, end
as false cheers drag us in abjection?
Pernicious threats makes deadly blend
in consumer dreams, wide selection:
Wars been raging without ceasefires
as do now global floods, wildfires
Nations lacking sense to back down
prance at very edge of nuclear war
they war game ‘limited’ showdown
while ‘suitcase bombs’ may blast through backdoor
Too close to the edge we totter
in political meltdown
by the self-styled ‘genius’ plotter
revealed himself vile a clown
Economy precariously
fumbles while greed’s ruthless prophets
on Wall Street most nefariously
amass usurious profits
Enabled by our own inanity
we’re perishing amidst insanity!
