Slammed, at last, the door on my Past!

My worn mind kept on churning
jaws clenched in face paling
ears & cheeks hotly burning
relived every failing

Aged humiliations amassed
kept The Now cruelly harassed

I could not bear in time left
to be held captive by The Past
Then, at last, found strength to heft
rebelled in too long suppressed blast!

Since having tamed The Past iniquitous
The Now been blossoming ubiquitous

Loquacious logistics

“Then we went there
and that was so great
they liked my hair
and then we all ate!”

Spare me loquacious logistics
with silly shallow heuristics!

In boorish reporting
of meager meandering
while mixing exhorting
with transparent pandering

Mercy, don’t let this pass for life
rather send me strenuous strife!

By each pedal stroke memories daringly stoke

“It came to me while I was out bicycling”, said Einstein, about his Theory of Relativity.

“It caught up with me when I, as a small boy, biked home after stealing apples”, said the writer of this verse, about the orchard dog that tried to bite him.

Pursuing cutting edge science versus being pursued by a pant ripping dog? O, well, bicycling can anchor us in the now, and shall at other times flood us with memories, as suggested here:

Memories daringly stoke
My Past turned over as by plow
when seems every pedal stroke
propels me away from The Now

Riding such ‘memory machine’
brings wondrous recollection
as if on refulgent wide screen
by fiat retrospection

Neither sputteringly mundane
like my old Italian car
nor far away from the arcane
those hours wasted at the bar

Whilst as long as it turns the wheels
my past life unflinchingly squeals
