Fades away the day meekly
sun rays reflect but bleakly
Amidst cold streaking clouds
on Fall-flattened curve
in sky’s metallic shrouds
sets sun with reserve
Its rays turn opaque
sun sinks to rest
Leaving a chilled wake
in West Southwest
Not Poetry. Quatrain Verse in English & Swedish. Dagsverser. On the Mundane & the Arcane.
Fades away the day meekly
sun rays reflect but bleakly
Amidst cold streaking clouds
on Fall-flattened curve
in sky’s metallic shrouds
sets sun with reserve
Its rays turn opaque
sun sinks to rest
Leaving a chilled wake
in West Southwest
Past thinning trees ablaze
on roads wetly glaced
In sunlit lukewarm haze
hills pumpingly paced
Slim tires splashing
through leaves stockpiling
Cyclists dashing
on rides beguiling
Linger the last Autumn days
lustrous, crisply tender
Under Winter’s furtive gaze
fades Fall’s cerise splendor
+)
pumpingly = as in pedaling hard, i.e. ‘pumping’ the pedals
Fades away the day meekly
sun rays reflect but bleakly.
On Fall flattened curve
in sky’s metallic shrouds
sets sun with reserve
below cold streaking clouds.
Its rays turn opaque
sun sinks to rest.
Leaving a chilled wake
to West Southwest.
Flawless Summer streaming
muffles all human shrillness
we’re awake whilst dreaming
float in shimmering stillness
Movements oneness
Heavens soundless
Warm Earth boundless
Nature wordless
By nature’s glistening surfeit
our mere mortal senses brimmed
Resting now from clawing circuit
Do we barely spare a glance
for Spring’s tender flower
while reaching enraptured trance
when we Online cower?
To seek peace in single pursuit
persevered for its own end
(be it heartrendingly minute)
ain’t that when we may transcend?
Yes, a fair chance when flowers we’re smelling
While squinting online? Case less compelling!
Birds’ color schemes
each flawless
distinctly gleams
brings solace
More elating a smidgen
mere glimpse of a Wigeon
or observing a Pigeon
than finding religion?
While birds of all colors soar
wingless humans largely bore
Try to dream with flowers
let them be it all
filling the dark small hours
staunch in rustling squall
Silently thunderous
by winds blown lustrous
frugal while generous
flowers grow wondrous
When our life glowers
try dream with flowers
Recent Summer days’ hot brow
wiped by Fall’s cool hand by now
Summer’s burgeoning greenery
has now faded quiescent
changed in a tweed hued scenery
of yellow, brown, rubescent
Getting clad in cerise fleece
preparing for chilled caprice
and melting down in glower
let’s hang back & closely observe
the gentle limber flower:
Allow her abiding stillness
to squelch our contentious shrillness
Some time ago Yana, our neighbor, emailed that “in these mean dark times my energy is momentarily diverted into a self-administrated, complete pedicure. For now I’m bettering the world one shiny toenail at a time.”, which inspired this verse:
In moral grime
election slime
among war crime:
She’s right on time!
In these mean dark days
she keeps hope ablaze
cutting through the haze
our Yana allays
Items unfurled
artistic
Rosy toes curled
yogistic
A pedicure
nail by nail.
No sinecure
much travail!
Got wrongs to abolish
with elegant polish
Yana standing tallish
Evil to demolish!
