Years rushing by her
without slowdown
faster & faster
goes the countdown
Even without disaster
life is the hard taskmaster
So why live in blurred hurry
when to live well in the moment
with its own joy & worry
provides life’s inmost bestowment?
Others’ proclivity
for shameless self-pride
and dull naivety
keep get things cockeyed
So you, know-it-all minion,
won’t let any verified fact
influence your opinion
or allow fairness to detract
Can’t undertake introspection
when howling strong in projection

Written when the promotional idea for vaccination was floated that people taking a Covid shot should be automatically enrolled in a $ lottery.

Won’t Public Health by $ lottery
sadly show up our souls as watery?
By refusing vaccination
we lack solidarity
in communal abdication
clueless insularity

jabs, who need ’em?”
While we can’t let it be our lot
to humor this kind of crackpot?
How come that I never tire
pedaling up such steepish hills?
Cause I get to blow off ire
while experiencing these thrills:
A calm mind blessed autonomous
Spared just tagging along sleepishly
on a life’s path synonymous
with over-consuming sheepishly
As well, be it fleetingly, spared the noises
of exigent contrived marketing voices
I do my best thinking
although won’t be medaling
mostly rinky-dinking
But still by a next pedal stroke
I may find myself in vogue
by having finally turned woke
tired out from being such rogue
And we can’t all have a proclivity
for theories of relativity …

The Latin ‘vincit qui se vincit’

frees us only when we evince it
as won’t just happen by itself!
When of risk-takings we may be lukewarm
let others take’em should they care
If they need so badly to transform
then let change take place – but ‘out there’!
While we of course retain the right to reprove
those, who imply that we should need to improve
Such snide, pied words
by hunched techies riled
Their screen-filled worlds
by jargon jaunt wiled:
Nattering net nerds
in their self-fenced herds
From mere species viewpoint we’ve failed
if we think in terms of right or wrong
while Big D has got it nailed:
It’s just a matter of going on!
The Big D bestows ceaseless strife
singly we just don’t matter
Humans among all planet’s life
bore Big D with their natter
Doesn’t care for how any one of us exists
just as long as planetary life persists

When we act ’emotionally reasoned’
seems initially to work well
while the approach must left us unseasoned
to stave off the any task’s death knell
While distracted by our own schlock
absorbed in state affective
we won’t hear Reality knock
thus losing all perspective
We can’t be bothered to dissect
what is cause & what is effect
We do deserve a handout
our plight of course sui generis
Awaiting our next bailout
so make it quick & generous!
As we’re selling lipstick
we implore & ask
as we all have a shtick:
Please, don’t wear a mask!
Or wear one of see-through type plastic
would support our business fantastic!
