“Amazon? Ain’t it cloud nine!”
No, didn’t mean THAT brazen bungle
where billions are spent online
but the Brazilian jungle:
its rain forest desecrated
by deforestation incessant
the planet’s lungs perforated
while humanity stays quiescent!?
Yet another fatality
through consumer rascality
I jakt på förtrollning
febrilt vi ylar
efter underhållning
plus långt fler prylar
Enär ovärderlig tiden
‘tidsfördriv’ ett lurt begrepp
en förställning tungt förvriden
i dagligt liv ett missgrepp
Ett beklagansvärt folknöje
grundat i ständigt missnöje?
He carries on a lot
about urban blight
of societal rot
things not being right
While yearning for action
still without fail every day
he keeps losing traction
bogged down in most mundane fray
He digresses, slides back deplumed
self-centered, in ill humor
into role for which he’d been groomed:
The entitled consumer
who is unable to rein in his stride
though can’t be said he seriously tried
In support tepid but benign
on front lawns still a smatter
of that virtue-signalling sign
that somehow ‘Black Lives Matter’
But are we radically
finally willing attend to
not just sporadically
beyond the yard sign ballyhoo?
Are we committed to follow through
turning around what’s long overdue?

ej stirrigt bland komplotter skeva
Var ej tråkig pessimist
eller uppblåst myndig
ej lättrogen optimist
men humorist fyndig
För dagspressen dej akta
leta bortom huvudfåra
sök noga efter fakta
så ej fel folk vi villfara
För klarsynt samklang å genklang
hittas blott inom sammanhang
