With riches ill gotten
they now claim entitled hots
(ethics best forgotten)
for more mansions, art & yachts
While the poor ‘ill begotten’
have most essential hots
for meals less thin & rotten
and to sleep on clean cots
On each poor the rich make but a penny
but it adds up because they’re so many
Planet like a stressed canine
shall shake itself of fleas
now in self-defense hard line
throwing off Human sleaze
With our fallacies
covetousness
enduring envies
loquaciousness
Restraint we’re sadly lacking
barely perspicacious
We rush, push, seldom slacking
way too efficacious
We keep battling amongst each other
with ferrous fangs & jagged jaws
while united against Earth Mother
Aren’t we Universe’s outlaws?!
Salivating salaciously
our species vexatiously
keeps gobbling up voraciously
defecates ungraciously
I’m since long overdue to resign
to join a species that is benign!
Den andfått käcka tidsandan
förringar glatt återhållsamhet
som nu huttrar på verandan
i självande ålderdomssvaghet
Gammaldags sunt förnuft
likaledes besinning
upplevs nu alltför tufft
löjlig gammal uppfinning!
För vem har råd slösa bort sin tid
med att söka efter sinnesfrid?
Rimmad reflektion på nedan artikel om hur gammalt bröd kan bli bioetanol:
I kultur rätt å slätt
jäktad, lösaktig
blir de ej alltför lätt
att va slösaktig?
Slängde brödskiva?
Dåliga vanor
lätta att bedriva
har djupa anor
Varför samla upp bröd
så på bioetanol
det ska gå ingen nöd?
Verkar bakvänt bildningsmål?
Om tillåts inget avhopp
låt ingen skiva undkomma
ifrån energins kretslopp
väl enkelt att åstadkomma?
Om bröd: Köp inte för mycket
släng ej, ät upp hela stycket!

A father’s advice to his son of marrying age
Whether a ‘lounging’ heiress
find one with spiritual depth
or an ‘on feet’ hairdresser
Insist on sweet soul, mind of breadth
(Not, if newly, a divorcee
or a just released parolee)
One shapely with good looks:
A compelling muse
one who adeptly cooks
doesn’t watch tv news
A woman hard for you to match
and one not too easy to catch
We’re told that granddaughter Ellie, on a NYC field trip, craved tasting a ‘real’ bagel. While waiting in line (snaking half-around-the-block) to Katz’s Deli she ‘elliequently’ burst out: “Is this place any good?”
“Did she sweetly get nervous
fearing that the long wait
was just due to slow service
not bagels being great?”
The other year Ellie visited the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, and is said to have made this ‘ellitist’ remark:
“Well, it’s wholly holy
but of modest scale
in height rising lowly
but go ahead: wail!
So that’s all:
an old wall?”
On the same NYC trip as when Ellie snaked around Katz’s she also visited Wall Street, and perhaps congruently she reflected:
“Be it where they scam & cheat
where displaying grim gall:
Just another city street
lacking parking. That’s all!”
She’s the Katz’s meow!

By now has got me worrying
that with such celerity
impatience keeps on scurrying
as does their asperity
They protest, inveigh
and cast about
at once they downplay
won’t hear me out
In the race for long attention spans
they are all out-distanced also-rans
In selfish times when facts downplayed
marked by superficiality
when indulgence knows not delay
we seek virtual reality
Must be found swift & easy
to be entertaining
as well snappy & breezy
If not too constraining
Not only just exasperating
but a culture alienating

Inte endast tjurskallig
men med uttryck föringande
ordar gubben flintskallig
tror sina ord bevingande
Om ‘livets stora frågor’
kultur, politik o klimat
står han löjligt i lågor
medan pallar sällan kallprat
Gunås, i polemik
bland lösa fakta
och när svag akustik
bör man sej akta
Så borde han ej lärt sej vett
att inte gaffla vitt å brett?
